Redesign and evolution of Metal Interface, a multi-domain and multilingual directory dedicated to the metalworking, mechanical welding, and forging industries. The platform aggregates a directory of companies, technical comparisons, classified ads, job offers, as well as specialized articles and columns, with several international versions.
The project involved rebuilding an existing solution developed under XPX, including data migration, complete theme redesign in adherence to a mandatory visual identity guideline, and the addition of new features to evolve the platform without compromising its core business functionality.
The architecture was designed to support a multi-domain and multilingual operation, leveraging Domain Access to manage multiple country and language versions from a single back-office. The site now publishes versions for France, Italy, Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Switzerland, according to the relevant languages and domains.
The project also includes an advanced back-office, implementation of complex searches, optimized views for large content volumes, and responsive development work to support the platform's evolving business requirements. The site references over 11,000 companies in its directory and several thousand technologies in its comparisons, highlighting the challenges of information structuring and access.
